Allianz

Sector7 assisted Allianz with the migration of their legacy application, written in PRO*FORTRAN and a 4GL language called Accent/R, to Intel FORTRAN. This involved moving all the embedded SQL within the FORTRAN code to a PRO*C library connected to Oracle 12c. The result was a pure Intel FORTRAN codebase that could be compiled on Linux and linked with the new PRO*C library as well as the VXRT library, allowing the application to run on Linux in the same way it did on OpenVMS.
The application made extensive use of the lock manager and DCL scripts, which were ported successfully using the VX/DCL product to run unchanged on Linux.
- Migration from OpenVMS to Linux.
- Conversion of embedded SQL in FORTRAN to PRO*C library.
- Lock manager and DCL scripts ran unchanged on Linux using VX/DCL.
- Successful recompilation of the legacy system with Intel FORTRAN and execution on Linux.
Sector7's in-depth knowledge of legacy systems ensured a seamless migration process, maintaining the functionality and performance of the original application.
