Sprint, now part of T-Mobile after the merger, is one of the world's largest communications providers, serving 23 million business and residential customers across more than 70 countries. With over 80,000 employees and annual revenues of $23 billion, Sprint had extensive wireline and wireless operations along with product distribution and directory publishing businesses.
The project’s goal was to assist IBM and Sprint's porting teams with the migration of the company's Customer Data Warehouse (CDW) from Linux to OS/390. Sector7 was brought in to manage the migration effort, re-scope the project, and identify the critical path for success. Sector7 provided resources to support the rewrite of STL functions and developed an in-depth test strategy based on their proprietary testing methodology.
